Combining West Coast-style surf pop, Velvet Underground-like urban rock, and the romanticism of French singer Françoise Hardy, Algerian-born singer/songwriter Etienne Daho has taken the European rock scene by storm. His albums have consistently qualified for gold or platinum status and his songs have been recorded by such artists as Mercedes Audras and Arnold Turboust. His résumé includes duets with Sarah Cracknell, Elli Medeiros, Lyn Byrd, Astrud Gilberto, and Chris Isaak. In 1989, he participated in an Arthur Baker-produced recording with Al Green and Jimmy Somerville.

The son of a French soldier father and a chemist mother, Daho was raised by grandparents who operated a semi-bar/semi-grocery during the War of Algeria. Recordings of Sylvie Vartan and Françoise Hardy, on a jukebox, inspired Daho to dream of becoming a singer. Settling with his family in Rennes, France, in 1965, Daho continued to broaden his musical scope to include the British rock of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and the art rock of David Bowie, Roxy Music, and the Velvet Underground. Visiting London for the first time in 1966, he became enamored of the British city's flourishing music scene.

Returning to Rennes, Daho worked as a dormitory monitor at the city's university. When he organized a concert at the school, featuring rock bands Stinky Toys and Marquis de Sade on December 20, 1978, Daho unknowingly took the first steps leading to his career in music. The Stinky Toys' Elli Medeiros and Jacno encouraged him to continue writing and singing, while Marquis de Sade lead guitarist Frank Darcel took him under his wing, helping him to learn the intricacies of musical professionalism. When Daho made his stage debut at the rock festival Transmusicales in June 1979, Darcel and other members of Marquis de Sade accompanied him. After releasing an independent single, "Cowboy," Daho signed with Virgin France. His 1980 debut album, Mythomane, produced by Jacno and featuring Marquis de Sade musicians, was certified gold a decade after its release.

Performing in Rennes clubs with French singer Arnold Turboust, Daho began to attract attention. Receiving some radio airplay with his singles "The Big Sleep" and "To Leave This Evening," he released his second album, La Notte la Notte, featuring the hit single "Weekend in Rome." Although it showed hints of a promising future, its sales paled next to those of Daho's next release, Pour Nos Vies Martiennes, which was certified gold (with sales of more than 100,000 copies) on the day it was released in June 1988. The success continued with 1989's Live ED, which sold more than 250,000 copies.

In 1991 he recorded his fifth album, Paris Ailleurs, a tribute to the Motown and Stax labels. Pre-release orders of the album were so strong that the album was certified gold before it was released and attained platinum status with sales of more than 500,000 copies. Four years later he was on the charts with a cover of Edith Piaf's "Mon Manège a Moi," while the U.K. pop group Saint Etienne were topping the British charts with "He's on the Phone," an English-language cover of "Weekend in Rome." While his 1994 release, Daholympia, sold half as many copies as Paris Ailleurs, Daho regained the momentum of his earlier albums with the release of Eden in 1996. Corps et Armes appeared in 2000 and was followed three years later by Reevolution.

Daho has always sought new avenues for his creativity. He appeared in Olivier Assayas' movie Dirorder, and received a European video award for his 1987 video "Tattoo Shoulder." In addition to writing songs for other artists, Daho has produced recordings for Les Valentins and Sylvie Vartan. He performed in a stage production of Jean Genet's Condemned to Death at the Moliere Theater in Paris. The soundtrack of the production was released in England as The New World. Françoise Hardy has remained a major influence on Daho's music. In 1986, Daho joined with Jerome Soligny to write a biography of the French singer, Superstar and Hermit.

Alice Donadel, stagename Alice Dona (Maisons-Alfort, 17 February 1946) is a French singer and songwriter. Born to an Italian father from Veneto and a French mother, both musicians.

As a singer she recorded 11 singles from 1963 to 1965 among them "Demain, j'ai dix-sept ans", "Surboum 63", "Mon train de banlieue", and "Avec Toi", co-written with Jacques Demarny, her entry for the Rose de France song competition in 1966. The French avant-prog unit (with no member actually named Art Zoyd) formed around the core of bassist Thierry Zaboitzeff, percussionist Jean-Pierre Soarez, and violin player Gerard Hourbette, with guitarist Rocco Fernandez, pianist Patricia Dallio, percussionist Daniel Denis (who later formed Univers Zero) and a changing lineup of half-a-dozen additional instrumentalists. The group's first album, Symphonie Pour le Jour Ou Bruleront les Cités, was self-released in 1976, followed by albums for Recommended and the French Atem label. The year 1982 brought their acknowledged masterpiece, the double-LP Phase IV. Two subsequent albums, Les Espaces Inquiets and Le Mariage Du Ciel Et de L'Enfer, were followed by a Zaboitzeff solo album, Prométhée, in 1984. Zaboitzeff and Hourbette continued the group into the 1990s, composing the music for the Faust soundtrack album released in 1995 on Atonal. The Ubique live album followed in 2001, performed by a massive ensemble including Hourbette, Dallio, Denis, and Mirielle Bauer, a former member of Pierre Moerlen's Gong.

Le Mariage du Ciel et de l'Enfer (1985) announced a transformation in Art Zoyd's sound, a move away from acoustic instruments, replaced by multi-layered keyboards. Two years later Berlin confirmed the new direction, establishing a sonic framework that would remain unaltered for more than a decade. Exit trumpeter Jean-Pierre Soarez and saxophonist Didier Pietton. André Mergenthaler fills the gap with his cello, alto sax, and percussion, thus bringing the group to the size of a quartet with Patricia Dallio, Gérard Hourbette, and Thierry Zaboïtzeff. Cello, violin, and saxophone still have a place in the picture, but they are constantly dominated by the keyboards, which serve as both the rhythmical and harmonic purveyors -- except for a few passages of snare drum and tom-toms, the role of percussion has been reduced considerably. Berlin is not Art Zoyd's best effort -- the film trilogy (Nosferatu, Faust, Haxan) would achieve better results with the same ingredients. Yet, even though the music has slightly ossified, it remains genuine Art Zoyd music: doom-laden, disquietingly martial, the chamber music of hell if Satan were a Nazi. The album takes the form of two 20-minute suites and five shorter pieces. "Epithalame," the first suite, moves about slowly but has a few nice shifts that keep it interesting. "A Drum, a Drum" includes lyrics (taken from Shakespeare) sung by Mergenthaler and presents in 20 minutes what the horror film trilogy would rework in three hours. Hourbette's "Petite Messe à l'Usage des Pharmaciens" (Short Mass for Pharmacists, in three parts) introduces a lighter side, but it hardly manages to be more than filler material. A decent album nevertheless, Berlin does not deserve to be overlooked.

Charles Louis Eugène Koechlin (French: [ʃaʁl lwi øʒɛn keklɛ̃]; 27 November 1867 – 31 December 1950) was a French composer, teacher and writer on music. He was a political radical all his life and a passionate enthusiast for such diverse things as medieval music, The Jungle Book of Rudyard Kipling, Johann Sebastian Bach, film stars (especially Lilian Harvey and Ginger Rogers), traveling, stereoscopic photography and socialism. He once said: "The artist needs an ivory tower, not as an escape from the world, but as a place where he can view the world and be himself. This tower is for the artist like a lighthouse shining out across the world."

Koechlin was born in Paris, and was the youngest child of a large family. His mother's family came from Alsace and he identified with that region; his maternal grandfather had been the noted philanthropist and textile manufacturer Jean Dollfus, and Koechlin inherited his strongly developed social conscience. His father died when he was 14. Though he was early interested in music his family wanted him to become an engineer. He entered the École Polytechnique in 1887 but the following year was diagnosed with tuberculosis and had to spend six months recuperating in Algeria. He had to repeat his first year at the École and graduated with only mediocre grades. After a struggle with his family and private lessons with Charles Lefebvre he entered the Paris Conservatoire in 1890 studying first with Antoine Taudou for harmony. In 1892 he started studying with Massenet for composition, André Gedalge for fugue and counterpoint, and Louis Bourgault-Ducoudray for musical history. His fellow-pupils included George Enescu, Ernest Le Grand, Reynaldo Hahn, Max d'Ollone, Henri Rabaud, and Florent Schmitt. From 1896 he was a pupil of Gabriel Fauré, where his fellow-pupils now included Ravel and Jean Roger-Ducasse. Fauré had a major influence on Koechlin; in fact Koechlin wrote the first Fauré biography (1927), a work which is still of value. In 1898 a grateful Koechlin orchestrated the popular suite from Fauré's Pelléas et Mélisande and in 1900 assisted Fauré in the production of the huge open-air drama Promethée.

After his graduation Koechlin became a freelance composer and teacher. He married Suzanne Pierrard in 1903, but after 1921 regularly corresponded with his former student, composer Catherine Murphy Urner in California. In 1909 he began regular work as a critic for the Chronique des Arts and in 1910 was one of the founders, with Ravel, of the Société musicale indépendante, with whose activities he was intensely associated. From its inception in the early 1930s to his death he was a passionate supporter of the International Society for Contemporary Music, eventually becoming President of its French section. From 1937 he was elected President of the Fédération Musicale Populaire. At first comfortably off, he divided his time between Paris and country homes in Villers-sur-Mer and the Côte d'Azur, but after the onset of World War I his circumstances were progressively reduced, he was forced to sell one of his houses and, from 1915, took work lecturing and teaching. Partly due to his vigorous championing of younger composers and new styles, he was never successful in his attempts to gain a permanent teaching position for himself, though he was an examiner for many institutions (e.g. the Conservatoires of Brussels, Rheims and Marseilles). He was rejected for the post of Professor of counterpoint and fugue at the Paris Conservatoire in 1926 by 20 votes to two (the two being Albert Roussel and Maurice Emmanuel), but from 1935 to 1939 he was allowed to teach fugue and modal polyphony at the Schola Cantorum.

He visited the USA four times to lecture and teach in 1918-19, 1928, 1929 and 1937. On the second and third visits he taught at the University of California, Berkeley, through arrangements made by Catherine Urmer, who afterward lived with him until 1933. On the 1929 visit his symphonic poem La Joie païenne won the Hollywood Bowl Prize for Composition and was performed there under the baton of Eugene Goossens. Even so, Koechlin had to pay for the preparation of orchestral parts, and in the 1930s he sank most of his savings into organizing performances of some of his orchestral works. In the 1940s, however, the music department of Belgian Radio took up his cause and broadcast several premieres of important scores including the first complete performance of the Jungle Book cycle. He died, and his body is buried, at his country home at Le Canadel, Var, aged 83. Some of his papers are housed at the University of California at Berkeley Library, donated by Catherine Urmer's husband Charles Rollins Shatto. In 1940, the French government offered him the award of Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur, but he refused it.
Review:
Koechlin’s multitudinous interests outside music included both astronomy and photography. Flammarion was an astronomer one of whose books was decisive in initiating the composer’s life-long absorption in the starry night skies. Vers La Voûte Etoilée, literally ‘Towards the starry vault’ (i.e. vault of heaven) can be variously translated as Towards the starry sky or perhaps more poetically Towards the starry firmament. The composer tells us that this represents a journey to very distant places far from earth yet still in touch with human emotions. More a parallel with Holst’s Neptune (from The Planets) than Holst’s Betelgeuse (from the Humbert Wolfe songs). It is a work of evanescent romanticism with melodic lines constantly shifting and refocusing as in Delius’s Song of the High Hills. There are some transiently Mahlerian moments and others where there is a hint of Rachmaninov’s Vocalise. It rises to a peak of impassioned ‘angoisse’ and then languidly falls back into silence. It is a work that was a decade in the making.

Black M (short for Black Mesrimes) is the stage name of Alpha Diallo, a French-Guinean rapper who first became known as a member of successful French hip-hop collective Sexion d'Assaut, which he joined in 2004. Diallo's colorful personality and tongue-twisting rhyme style, often involving onomatopoeia and humorous wordplay, made him one of the most celebrated members of the group. Sexion d'Assaut released numerous mixtapes and independent releases during the 2000s prior to the release of their official debut and mainstream breakthrough, 2010's L'École des Points Vitaux. In addition to his work with Sexion d'Assaut, Diallo released the collaborative EP Le Pacte (credited to Bakry et Black Mesrimes) in 2006, and appeared on singles by DJ Abdel and Major Lazer. Black M's debut solo album, Les Yeux Plus Gros Que le Monde arrived on Wati-B in March of 2014, and was an enormous success; the album went quadruple platinum, and every track other than the intro and interlude charted in the French singles chart, including the number one smash "Sur Ma Route." The album was reissued later in the year as Le Monde Plus Gros Que Mes Yeux, and included a bonus disc with eight additional tracks. Live album Les Yeux Plus Gros Que l'Olympia followed in 2015, and was available both as an audio CD/download or a DVD. Diallo's heavily anticipated second studio album, Éternal Insatisfait, arrived in 2016. The album was partially written as a reaction to the November 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris. However, it also had an optimistic, party-ready vibe to it. The album included guest appearances by Shakira (on "Comme Moi") as well as Manu Dibango and Amadou & Mariam (on bonus track "Je Suis Chez Moi [African Version]").

Les yeux plus gros que le monde (literally The Eyes Greater than the World) is a 2014 album by the French-Guinean artist Black M. It was released on 31 March 2014 containing 19 tracks almost all of which appeared on SNEP based on downloads. The album sold 400,000 copies and was certified 3x platinum.

Owing to the great success of the album, the album was rereleased as a Deluxe Edition on 17 November 2014 with an additional CD of 8 tracks. To differentiate, the reedition was titled Le Monde plus gros que mes yeux (meaning the World Greater than my Eyes).

A French metal act that snagged early comparisons to groups like Rage Against the Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Silmarils built a following through their live shows, eventually winning over Scottish producer Peter Murray, who helped them with their first recorded work. Their debut full-length, Silmarils, was released in 1995 and the band added to the promotion of the record by having famous porn starlets feature in a video for the lead single from the album. Keeping a hectic touring schedule helped the band solidify its fan base, and Silmarils released their second album, Original Karma, in 1997. Marie Dubas (3 September 1894 – 21 February 1972) was a French music-hall singer, diseuse and comedian.

Born in Paris, France, Marie Dubas began her career as a stage actress but became famous as a singer. Using the great Yvette Guilbert as her model, Dubas started singing in the small cabarets of Montmartre mixing comedy into her routine. She earned a following that led to offers to perform in Parisian operettas and musicals and during the 1920s and 30s, starred at such places as the Casino de Paris and Bobino, the great music hall in Montparnasse. Her most famous song, Mon légionnaire, was written by Raymond Asso and recorded in 1936. Her popularity became such that in 1939 she toured the United States.

The occupation of France by the Germans during World War II proved a difficult time for the Jewish, Marie Dubas. Although married to a French gentile who served in the Air Force, she was nevertheless banned by the Vichy government and placed under house arrest by the Gestapo who raided her Paris apartment. Forced to flee the country, Dubas took refuge in Lausanne, Switzerland where she remained until the end of the war. On her return to France, she learned her sister had been executed and her nephew had been shipped to a concentration camp, never to be heard from again.

The inspiration for Édith Piaf, Marie Dubas returned to performing and in 1954 was chosen as a headliner for the reopening of the Paris Olympia. A stage production about her life, Dubas de haut, en bas, was created by Opéra Éclaté.

Marie Dubas retired in 1958. She died in Paris in 1972 and is interred there in the Père Lachaise Cemetery. Unfortunately, this great artist is forgotten today.

I suppose that was considered provocative in the 50's. Lighter than her Légionnaire hit, at any rate.

Artist Biography by Rolf Semprebon (Allmusic)

The end of the '60s saw many groups transitioning from psychedelic to progressive rock. One of these, Ame Son, was one of the earliest French rock bands to go beyond the conventional rock & roll of the time. Combining elements of psychedelic rock with avant jazz, they created a unique, improvised rock sound that laid the path for numerous other French progressive groups who stretched the boarders between rock and free jazz.
Ame Son's history goes back to the mid-'60s, when guitarist Bernard Lavialle, guitarist/vocalist Bernard Stizi, bassist Patrick Fontaine, and drummer Marc Blanc formed the group Les Primitivs. From 1965 to 1967, this rock band, influenced by British blues rock like the Yardbirds, played in and around Paris and also for three months on the island of Corsica. When Stizi left at the end of 1967, the other three formed Expression, a more psychedelic band that gigged not only at clubs but also progressive art exhibits as well. When Lavialle temporarily joined the Army, Blanc and Fontaine joined Bananamoon, Daevid Allen's group after leaving Soft Machine and before founding Gong, to play some gigs in Spain in the summer of 1968 and southern France early the next year. Allen's influence in particular, as well as that of the underground psychedelic scene that came out of London that was mostly around the UFO club, was crucial to the development of the musicians by the time Lavialle rejoined the others in June 1969, along with flutist Francois Garrel.
At that time, Ame Son, which roughly means soul song or expressive song in French, was born. Within three months, they signed with BYG Records and in two days in London recorded the instrumental tracks of their only proper album. With vocals and final mixing done in October, Catalyse came out in early 1970. Their live performances at large festivals around France over the next year and a half met with both public and critical success, but the band broke up in June 1971. A couple years later, the band re-formed with the addition of guest musicians Jacques Dudon, Alain Renaud, and Jean-Louis Auber and lasted for another few years. Blanc went on to do some solo work under the name Ame Songs in the 1980s and the band re-formed in 1995 for some concerts with avant-garde guitarist Jean Francois Pauvros.

Several French prog bands from the early '70s cross-pollinated free jazz with psychedelic music, but Ame Son were one of the earliest and finest, especially on their full-length Catalyse, released in 1970 on the legendary avant jazz label BYG. Comparisons with Gong are appropriate since a couple members of Ame Son toured with Daevid Allen prior to his forming Gong. Many tracks begin in an avant free-form jam that eventually develops into more structured song and rhythm, with lyrics in either French or English, and then slips back into another wild free-form freak-out. In fact, each of the six tracks from the album are actually two or three pieces that are segued seamlessly together. Prominent flute, drugged-out vocals, and fuzzed-up electric guitar lend this a definite late-'60s underground vibe, though because of the originality of the material and the quality of musicianship, it doesn't sound dated like similar releases from that era, especially on tracks like "Seventh Time Key/I Just Want to Say" and "Hein Quant a Toi/Etc.," with their driving rhythms. Straddling the transition between psychedelia and progressive by way of avant jazz and Gong-like space rock, Ame Son has created a masterpiece.

"Angels We Have Heard on High" is a Christmas carol of French origin. The song commemorates the story of the birth of Jesus Christ found in the Gospel of Luke, in which shepherds outside Bethlehem encounter a multitude of angels singing and praising the newborn child.

The words of the song are based on a traditional French carol known as Les Anges dans nos campagnes (literally, "The Angels in our countryside") composed by an unknown author in Languedoc, France. That song has received many adjustments or alignments including its most common English version that was translated in 1862 by James Chadwick, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle, northeast England. The carol quickly became popular in the West Country, where it was described as 'Cornish' by R.R. Chope, and featured in Pickard-Cambridge's Collection of Dorset Carols.

There is also a Scottish Gaelic (Gàidhlig) translation of the carol which is known as Ainglean chuala sinn gu h-ard (literally, "Angels We Have Heard on High"). This was translated into Gaelic by Iain MacMilan from James Chadwick's English translation. It has since been re-translated by world-renowned bassist Joseph Schlegel and his cohorts the Rowdy Bunch. It has been said that this translation spurred a Christian revivalist movement in the north metro area of Denver, Colorado.

"Viens boire un p'tit coup à la maison" (approx. Come home to have a drink) is a 1986 song recorded by the French band Licence IV. Released as a single in March 1987, the song achieved a huge success in France, becoming the best-selling single of the 1980s in France.

This drinking song was composed notably by Jean-Jacques Lafon under the pseudonym of J.Falon. This French singer has had a smash hit in 1986 with "Le Géant de papier". Very popular, the song deals with the tasting of the wine and the sausage, in company with some friends, in a festive atmosphere.

Licence IV was a male duet composed of Olivier Guillot and Francis Vacher, who were respectively the secretary and the artistic director of Patrick Sébastien. Gillou - Pierre Perret's accordionist -, who is mentioned in the lyrics, also participated in the composition of the song.

The single was charted for 32 weeks on the French Singles Chart, from March 7 to October 10, 1987. It debuted at #27, reached the top top two weeks later and became #1 in its sixth week. It stayed there for 13 consecutive weeks, which was at the time the record of the most weeks at the top for a single (this record was also carried out the previous year by the band Images with their hit "Les Démons de minuit"). The single totaled 23 weeks in the top ten and was certified Platinum disc by the SNEP. According to Infodisc website, this song is the 38th best-selling single of all time in France with 1,220,000 sales.

The band did not release another song, nor any album.

Était-il vraiment nécessaire de partager avec le monde cette merveille de sophistication à la française ? J'ai peur qu'il ne soit guère réceptif à un humour aussi glacé et sophistiqué, pour citer le regretté Gotlib ;)

Hé, hé... Si tu ne le sais pas, c'est que tu ne lis pas assez mes posts sur ce forum :P

Je suis épaté par l'étendue de tes connaissances en règle générale ; je me souviens que c'est ici que j'avais découvert les excellents Moodoïd par exemple, ou la BO de « La Planète sauvage » que je ne connaissais pas... Il y a des trucs sur la fin des années 70 dont je n'avais jamais entendu parler et qui sont intéressants aussi. Tu fais globalement de l'excellent travail je trouve (même si je n'approuve toujours pas ton unique choix pour représenter Hallyday :P la fin des années 60 et le début des années 70 étaient à mon sens bien meilleurs en ce qui le concerne), jamais songé à publier (hors forum, j'entends) ? Tu sembles avoir la culture générale pour produire quelque chose d'assez décent :)

C'est très très gentil mais tu te rends bien compte que rien n'est de moi tout de même ! Ce ne sont que des copier-coller d'autres sites pour les commentaires sur les groupes et/ou albums. :whistle:
Je pense que j'en découvre autant en le faisant que toi en le lisant. Et c'est d'ailleurs le moteur qui me permet de continuer... plus je creuse, plus je découvre une richesse hallucinante, une variété infinie de groupes et de musique dans notre pays. J'ai une liste avec encore des centaines de groupes et de chansons à venir, le plus dur maintenant, c'est de trouver des biographies en anglais. Si tu connais un site qui traite de groupe étrangers en anglais, ce serait super (je me suis aperçu que Allmusic était absolument blindé d'erreurs de toutes sortes).

Quant aux traductions, il y a des gars bien sympa sur LyricsTranslate qui font tout le boulot (petitélève notamment qui fait du très bon boulot dans la traduction et dans l'explication de texte) :-)

Bref, c'est un travail collégial.



Quant à ta désagréablitude, j'avoue être peut-être passé à côté..ou je ne m'en souviens plus..j'ai une mémoire de poisson rouge.


P.S. : J'espère pour Moodoïd d'ailleurs que tu as acheté leur album, il est...parfait ! Je me demande si ce n'est pas l'album que j'ai le plus écouté ces trois dernières années et il sera sans conteste possible dans mon top 3 de la décennie.

Oui, je sais que tu copies les biographies, mais il n'empêche que tu as écouté tout ça, que tu as apparemment bien bossé ton sujet... Je crois que tu as quand même un niveau assez supérieur à la moyenne :)

Il ne me semble pas connaître de sites de ce genre, désolé :S Spotify fournit des notices biographiques en anglais, mais je crois qu'elles proviennent d'Allmusic.

J'ai souvent songé à créer quelque chose moi-même, mais je n'ai encore jamais eu le temps d'y réfléchir (en termes de moyens) ou d'y travailler sérieusement.

Il y a les livres et les e-books en anglais, bien sûr, mais soit ils ne sont que partiellement consultables (Google Books), soit ils sont payants, soit ils sont uniquement disponibles illégalement.

J'ai eu une lueur d'espoir quand tu as parlé de Spotify...qui est vite retombée...haha !

Tiens, en parlant de Spotify, est-ce que le lien que je fournis dans le deuxième message de la page fonctionne, car je ne sais pas vraiment utiliser le bouzin et je me demande si les gens peuvent y accéder en suivant simplement le lien ou s'il n'y a que moi parce que je suis Dieu le créateur de la playlist.

J'espère que tu parviendras à créer le site dont tu rêves, c'est passionnant, il faut bien l'avouer, et puis j'utilise ta liste également de temps en temps ce qui prouve bien que tu connais pas mal le sujet itou. Franchement, rien qu'avec les années 70, il y a de quoi faire pour la vie, ça a été une explosion de groupes dans tous les sens.

Je crois qu'ils le peuvent. Moi je ne peux pas parce que mon navigateur bloque Adobe Flash en permanence mais il me semble qu'il m'envoie directement dessus quand je suis le lien. L'idéal serait d'insérer la playlist directement dans le message mais je reconnais que c'est une vraie galère, je me souviens que lorsque j'en avais fabriqué une pour ce topic :

Bon, en tout cas, si tu as des commentaires à faire sur les chansons, je le répète, je suis toujours ouvert (et je n'ai pas oublié les Jeux Vidéos, mais je dois bien l'avouer, je n'ai pas encore trouvé réellement un morceau qui vaille le coup, non pas pour la composition, mais pour le son) ;)

Pas de souci. C'est plutôt la rareté du rap qui me gêne un peu dans les années récentes, mais je sais très bien que c'est un goût très difficile à acquérir (moi même j'ai eu du mal) et j'avoue que mes connaissances restent succinctes (la liste postée par lagire sur le rap français dans le topic Le Mot & le Reste a un gros autocollant rouge « Top priorité » collé dessus en ce qui me concerne :mrgreen: ) Et le modern r'n'b français, encore pire. Je n'ai écouté que quelques morceaux en tout et pour tout et il faudra que je m'y mette sérieusement un jour, faute de couverture du sujet par la presse (comme je l'ai déjà dit ailleurs, je ne crois pas au mythe selon lequel c'est un genre de musique sans intérêt).

Quant à la musique de jeux vidéos, c'est tout à fait normal, c'est un genre peu couvert et confidentiel. Et je ne te parle pas de son principal « produit dérivé », le chiptune (jamais entendu parler de Sidabitball ? Non ? Normal :D ). On rentre dans l'ésotérique ici.

Pareil pour les musiques régionales, quoi qu'il y ait un peu plus de littérature sur le sujet, il me semble.

Pour le Rap et le Hip-Hop, je trouve que j'en mets à gogo et qu'il y en a dix fois trop personnellement :-) Comme je dois mettre des chansons de toutes les époques, forcément, il y a peu "d'espace" pour le Hip-hop qui a une chance toutes les 8 chansons d'apparaître. Et comme je ne vais pas mettre QUE ça pour notre millénaire, globalement, ça doit faire une chanson toutes les 30 ou 40 qui doit être consacrée au genre.
J'ai d'ailleurs bien aimé la dernière que j'ai mis, du groupe Hocus Pocus. Je pense que je m'ouvre sur ce sujet...mais je sentais que c'était possible.

Quant au moderne r'n'b, là, j'essaye de mettre les machins qui passent à la radio, mais ça me dégoûte tellement...par exemple, je suis incapable de faire la différence entre Black M et la chanson de Solange que tu aimes tant et qui est dans le top de l'année. J'avoue ne pas comprendre..Mais alors là, j'en serai incapable, je ne veux même pas essayer. Pour moi, c'est ce que tout le monde appelait de la soupe il y a encore dix ans. Et puis Autotune...là, ce n'est plus possible, ils faut qu'ils fassent quelque chose pour arrêter cette épidémie...sur le top 10 AM de l'année, j'ai essayé de toutes les écouter, mais les voix sont tellement trafiquées, robotiques et insupportables que c'est inécoutable.

Et pour la musique régionale, oui, gros manque... j'essaye de mettre surtout de la musique des îles (parce que j'aime ça avant tout) mais ça enlève encore de la place pour le reste, y'aura moins de r'n'b si je mets de la musique Auvergnate :-)

It is the name of a music program that his creator, Pierre Boquet, has been working on for 5 years already. A standard in agroalimentary and musical industries, it has notably been used by Justin Guetta during the mastering of David Timberlake's last album.

Absolument pas ! Ce serait marrant mais non :D Je me suis toujours dit que ça serait sympa si un membre du forum avouait tout d'un coup être un artiste (connu, j'entends, nombre des membres jouent de la musique ou autre) mais ça n'est jamais arrivé.

The zazous were a subculture in France during World War II.
