You should have picked another one - I seriously considered voting against it; despite having some of my favourite Beatles' songs, there is much filler here. And I'm not gonna eliminate any other album of my 3rd favourite band of all time, at least not at this stage of the game.
My pick - I must revisit Grace - from what I remember it's a strong candidate, but I haven't listened to it for a long time and it's better to make sure first. Right now - bye Forever Changes.

It seems that I have something against punk rock this week. I like the Clash, but two albums by them in the top 100 is one too many, and this one doesn't belong there...

The Clash - The Clash

2. The Beatles - Revolver
6. Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
8. The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St.
11. Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
12. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced?
13. Radiohead - OK Computer
14. The Beatles - The Beatles ("White Album")
15. Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

Truth be told, I don't dislike any of the albums in the list (no, not even Dark Side. Pretty solid album actually). There are however quite a few entries I don't think are top 100 of all-time material. Paul Simon-Graceland is one of them.

I agree about Public Enemy, I don't get why that album is considered rap's finest. I'm surprised that this album lasted this long, it's a very polarizing album I think. I've tried at least 10-15 times to listen to it and appreciate it but I just can't.

62. David Bowie - Hunky Dory

In my opinion, two out of Bowie's three albums in the Top 100 are completely deserving. But this one is not.

Removed Is This It by Strokes. I feel like Television only had one album in them, so this is basically trivial. :p

2. The Beatles - Revolver
6. Marvin Gaye - What's Going On

That's pretty bold about Kind of Blue. I think there's too many people on this board including myself who are casual jazz fans at best who will remove it.

Seeing Kind of Blue removed might literally hurt. As a student in college studying and aspiring to become a career jazz musician....it's a huge influence on me haha.

I think Kind of Blue is a record for jazz fans. I might be wrong about that, but for me it doesn't catch me as well as some of his other albums like Sketches of Spain and Workin'. But, I don't know the ins and outs of jazz, and I openly admit that I might not appreciate things that other people hear on that album. My best guess is that I'm not alone on that since I like to listen to other jazz albums including other Miles Davis records.

I meant that I want Kind of Blue to win, not that I think it will. Having said that, I think it truly is the jazz record for a wider audience than the inveterate fans. I think I'm right when I say that it's (one of) the highest regarded jazz album both by "elitists" and "amateurs", which is wonderful.

Interesting that of the 44 albums left, 26 are from the top 50 and only 17 are 51-100.
Let me make that 16.
91. DJ Shadow - Endtroducing.....
I was between eliminating Kind of Blue, Marquee Moon and Endtroducing.
I'm not really a big fan of jazz, but I love "A Love Supreme". "Kind of Blue" doesn't hit me the same way.

2. The Beatles - Revolver
6. Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
8. The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St.
11. Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
12. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced?

I'd describe "Who's Next" as an old man's record or what some people like to call "Dad Rock". Funny enough, as I've grown older and become a dad, I actually like it a lot more than I did before. But, I agree with voting it off the list, that's not a top 100 album.

I'm not big on Kind of Blue. I am a total jazz newbie, but of the 8 or so jazz albums I've heard, it's my least favorite. It doesn't excite me as much as the albums I've heard by Sun Ra, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane and Pharaoh Sanders. It's nice enough, but the best thing I can say about it is that it's pleasant.

63. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II

I was about to put There's A Riot Goin On out but changed to this at the last minute.

My ranking of the Zeppelin albums:

IV: #30
I: #153
III: #290
Physical Graffiti: #319
Houses Of The Holy: #534
II: #541

II has the most 'iconic' songs on it except for maybe IV, but IMO, it has the least interesting of their iconic songs. It's re-listenability is by far the lowest out of all their first six albums.

2. The Beatles - Revolver
6. Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
8. The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St.
11. Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
12. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced?
13. Radiohead - OK Computer
14. The Beatles - The Beatles ("White Album")
15. Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
16. David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

20. The Beatles - Abbey Road

That's pretty much how I feel about it. The biggest thing for me is how the whole album just kinds of runs together into one good piece but doesn't have a standout moment. For me the shining examples of standout moments on jazz records are St. Thomas off of Sonny Rollins' Saxophone Colossus and Moanin' off of Art Blakey's album of the same title. Kind of Blue just doesn't have that kind of an amazing track and I end up forgetting what it even sounds like because of that.

Michael Jackson-Thriller
Centers too much around 3 songs, and the rest are just ok or really bad. I understand it's cultural impact, but as a piece of music it's too highly rated

Thriller is a good pop album, but I agree that its high acclaim is a bit overstated. I'd say it's a lot more than 3 great songs, though. I'm guessing "Thriller" is considered one of the heavy-hitters, but it's way down on my list. Still, "Human Nature", "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" and "P.Y.T." are all very welcome in my book in addition to "Billie Jean" and "Beat It". I even prefer "Baby Be Mine" to "Thriller". The real let-downs are the non-descript "Lady in My Life" and the truly abhorrent "The Girl Is Mine", in my view.
