The book Let’s Talk About Love is also a brilliant analysis of taste in music and how the idea of having “good taste” has changed over the years.
Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand - Sir Duke (1976)

Fred - Have you read this whole book? Is it pretty tedious or a solid read? Looks interesting but wondering if it's "dumbed down" enough to keep me in it.

There is an ENORMOUS amount of "bleak semi metal" music that I think is what "normal" people listen to realizing their musical potential. We are not normal here on AM. Joni Mitchell was a wanker and the Beatles have nothing on Judas Priest. There is a new generation taking over. Different taste!
How does this relate to my comment though?

Agree taste is shifting towards new areas.
