Taylor Swift's ascendancy to Acclaimed Music glory last year couldn't have come as a total surprise. Much more startling (although not so much if you've been paying attention these last few months) is that as of the next update, AM will no longer be a Bieber-free zone. (As if that weren't enough, it looks like Nick Jonas might also have one of the year's most acclaimed singles.)

I wish we could be spared poptimism.

Where are Ü Now is kind of interesting and I would not have be too annoyed if it was in the 51 - 100 range, but What Do You Mean is a very annoying song, really surprised to see it so high, if you want a pop number 1 go for Lean On or Can't Feel My Face. The Nick Jonas track isn't very good either (yes I did listen to all 3 to get an idea).

I'll focus on the positive and rejoice that Beautiful Blue Sky shows up on a 2nd list, especially in a top 10.
Happy to see Girl Band's cover of Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage (surprised it's 2015 though) and When I Was Done Dying

I'm a full-blown poptimist, but "Levels" ahead of "Hotline Bling" is barbarism.

Many pop songs, but no Adele's songs?

I like What Do You Mean; I think it's the best song on the album.
I feel like that

Okay, I'll bite. "What Do You Mean?" is actually a pretty enjoyable song. Not SOTY by a long, long shot. But a pretty good pop song. And not just by Bieber standards. Just a good pop song in general.

The thread is simply titled EOY 2015-Spin, so it's perfectly fine for both lists to be here. Thanks!

I was hoping "The Hills" would be the Weeknd song of choice this year, but it's looking like it's going to be "Can't Feel My Face." Like others, I'm also a fan of all the Bieber singles. Kid's done well.

This should be obvious, but only the overall top 50 albums list will be included on the spreadsheet. Genre lists are only included when there's no overall list (e.g., Exclaim!).

Goddammit, this is the 3rd time I've heard a song on the radio that sounded good and later found it was by Justin Bieber. Maybe I should change my profile picture...
