Thank you! I substituted the semicolons for commas and the formula worked. Sorting A to Z lost the order, so I added ranks on the left for all 6,285 songs... After I sorted A to Z, I deleted the rows with no values in column C and then sorted by rank, and then redid that rank so it went 1-500 instea...

I haven't crunched the numbers. The Beatles are clearly ahead of both songs-wise. It depends how much it hurts that Magical Mystery Tour is pretty far behind the 2nd album by both of those two.
