Other than A Deeper Understanding, I haven't heard any albums this year that have really wowed me, but I think some of you might enjoy Ulver's (a Norwegian band) The Assassination of Julius Caesar. It's a synthpop album, but with an intriguing dark mood that permeates the entire album.

I haven't heard most of these albums, but I'm enjoying the eclecticism and the large album art work, especially Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret. It looks like most of my top 30 didn't make the cut, but I was happily surprised to see The Division Bell make it, even though it was almost entirely my doing.

I didn't post a list, but 2005 was a great year for music. Even though my all-time top 200 is mostly 20th century music, several albums from 2005 made the cut: Porcupine Tree's Deadwing (#9), Sufjan Stevens' Illinois (#34), The Mars Volta's Frances the Mute (#86), and Coldplay's X&Y (#148).
