I have an interesting idea for a poll: the best years in music. The voters could rank every year between a certain start and end time (say, 1957-2013 or something like that) and tabulate to results to see what years we generally regard as the best.

1974's performance is reminding me of 1981's showing in the final albums poll last year. The top album from the year came in at 40 (the only album from 81 in the top 50), and only two others made the top 75.

We could do something like Top 10 (or 13) from each year, then the next 10 (or 7) are pooled together after the 1969 poll and we can vote for our favorite 15 or 20 from that bunch, and the top 50 (or 20) out of that advance.
