Re: Summary of Critics' Lists: Best Albums of the Half-Decad

it probably isn't hard to guess what those albums are, but only one made the top ten of every single list. And it isn't necessarily the one you'd expect. Geez, this means you did all that work just to finish making us speculate those results? Or it is Drake? And the other? Or maybe I just did not u...

Summary of Critics' Lists: Best Albums of the Half-Decade

I thought I'd use the formula from the end-of-decade Best Albums of the 2000s critics' list spreadsheet to collate the results of the critics' "best albums of 2010-2014" lists that have appeared so far. As of now there have only been five such lists: three from the U.S. (top 100 lists from...

Re: Will Taylor Swift's 1989 make the top 1000 of next year?

Based on its high ranking on the end-of-year spreadsheet, I think we can say with absolute certainty that 1989 will be included on the all-time albums top 3000 list in the next site update this summer. I don't think it will land as high as the top 1000, though. Somewhere in the 1001-1500 range seems...

So Kanye just performed on SNL with a medley of Jesus Walks, Only One, and Wolves (with Sia and Vic Mensa). The hype grows stronger. Actually, I can say that this is the very first album that I've been hyped for (unless Grimes somehow beats him to it). And a striking, arresting performance it was (...

Why can't Kanye ever leave well enough alone?
