Re: Could "Ys" move into the top 250 next year?

Ys is my favorite album of 2006, but hype for it definitely cooled down fast in the States. I'm not sure how it's doing abroad. I kind of see it always ping ponging in the 250-300 range. Most older albums either drop or do that, with few examples consistently rising (Neutral Milk Hotel's In The Aero...

The American identity is based on staunch individualism, which is what rubs a lot of people from other countries the wrong way; the "me" factor. It's ingrained into our being from day one. Maybe that's a reason for all of the solo acts?

Re: 90s x 2000s

I would conjecture that it has something to do with the fact that a lot of indie alt-rock bands gained a lot of attention at the same time in the early to mid 00s. Also the mid to late 90s are generally associated with post-grunge. It was kind of a between period for popular music where the remnant...

I'm highly surprised by this, because I consider the 90's to be a much stronger decade that the 00's. This may in part be the resonance of end of the decade lists, but I could be wrong. Maybe critics like the 00's more than the 90's. The strange things is as far as albums go, critics prefer the 90s...

Whole genres have been ignored in countries. As an American, I've rarely heard trip-hop, 2-step, or Madchester on the radio.
