Not too much change since the last time. 34 - Lhasa - La Ilorona Romain, I just noticed this misspelling of "La llorona" (the weeping woman), the same album as my #171, which I also misspelled as "La Llarona." Panam has the correct spelling at his #311. I trust notbrianeno was a...

Not new albums of course, but Brian Eno's first four solo records have been remastered at Abbey Road studios and released on double 45 discs. I've listened to all four at least once, and this pressing of Another Green World is the best sounding disc in my collection. For the many Eno fans here I hig...

I think Jonathan Safran Foer is my new favorite American author. Making my way through his latest novel Here I Am, and he reminds me of the great 1960s novels of Roth, Updike and Singer. Highly recommended. Edit; also Here I Am is filled with pop music references. I.e "Kanye West is not more cu...

I will let my original list stand with a couple of minor changes; one was non-fiction and one was a brain fart. Q. Is Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance eligible? The more I read about it the more it seems to be a very factual memoir. By the same logic, I'm eliminating Dave Eggers. 1. Walter ...

Assuming that you are collating the data in an Excel spreadsheet, you should be able to do a global replace using the ordinal placement and calculating a function for each non-zero value. Something like "If #value!>0, then[100-(sqrt (18.5(#value!-1))]". If you look at the spreadsheets near...

The formula used will be the same as last time: 100 - [square root(18.5*Placement-1)]. I'm pretty sure the formula is supposed to include an extra set of parentheses. 100 - [square root(18.5*(Placement-1))] Oh yeah, and I've got a little list coming at the last minute. "Dammit, Jim, I'm a doct...
