I think that 1989 is such a well acclaimed year that recommendations of something new or "unheard" are hard to come by. I've just got one recommendation for this year. The Australian Jangle Pop group the Hummingbirds.

In the last 80's Poll it appeared in 1983 but it is in RYM as 1991. I believe the rules are that RYM is the criteria used for the correct year but I just wanted to clarify. Thanks.
