Re: Another elimination game- Rolling Stone greatest artists

James Brown 8. Little Richard 9. Aretha Franklin 10. Ray Charles 11. Bob Marley 12. The Beach Boys 13. Buddy Holly...

Re: EXTINCTION - 200 GREATEST ROCK SONGS

189. Into the Groove - Madonna In my opinion, this song just doesn't belong on a top 200 list. 1. Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry 3. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin 5. I Heard It Through The Grapevine - Marvin Gaye 6. (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - Rolling Stones 7. Jailhouse Rock - Elvis Presley ...

Despite the strong showing of Chuck Berry songs, it's a shame that "Memphis, Tennessee," in my opinion one of the best songs ever written, is not included.

66. Nuthin' But a "G" Thang - Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg I could never understand the acclaim. Can't believe it has outlasted, in my opinion, much better rap songs. 1. Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry 3. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin 5. I Heard It Through The Grapevine - Marvin Gaye 6. (I Can't Get No) ...

Re: Rolling Stone (USA) - The 70 Greatest Bob Dylan Songs (2

Grr. I bought the magazine with the Top 70 when it came out. If I would have known they were putting out a Top 100 in 2 years, I would have gladly waited for the expanded, better-bound edition. Oh well, it's nice to know they've done a Top 100 for Dylan, following The Beatles. Who's next? The Rollin...

Re: The 2012 AMF All-Time Songs Poll: Results

Really enjoyed the results! Quite surprised to see how much changed since the last poll, but nice that it wasn't just a repeat (only 4 songs made the top 10 on both this list and the 2010 list!) I was expecting another "God Only Knows"/"A Day in the Life"/"Like a Rolling Stone" top 3, so it's a fres...

Re: Forum Poll: The AM Top Songs of All Time (2012 edition)

Is it alright if I post my list? I was hoping to get it finished before the cut-off, but alas I was a few hours late: 1. The Beatles – Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End 2. George Harrison – All Things Must Pass 3. The Kinks – Waterloo Sunset 4. U2 – One 5. Simon & Garfunkel – The Only Living...

Is the Beach Boys' "Smile" (2011) eligible for AM?

Critics are praising The Beach Boys' 2011 release of their long-shelved album Smile , and Rolling Stone magazine even recently included it in their revised edition of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time . What I'm wondering is...Is Smile eligible for Acclaimed Music's list since it was recorded over...

Re: NEW Rolling Stone Top 500 Albums of All Time

Why would they replace two CCR albums with a greatest hits compilation? It also seems strange to think that the highest-ranked album of the 1990s is an Elvis Presley compilation. And why is a compilation of two different Bo Diddley albums included as one entry? It confuses me to see so many greatest...
