Re: Paste (US) - The 100 Best Songs of the 1960s

I was curious to see how this list compares to the Acclaimed Music Top 100 of the '60s. AM decade ranks are in brackets: (102) 100. Desmond Dekker and the Aces - Israelites (-) 99. Bobby Darin - Beyond the Sea [1959] (138) 98. The Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody (167) 97. Nancy Sinatra - These...

Re: Paste (US) - The 100 Best Songs of the 1960s

The Patsy Cline song "Walkin' After Midnight" was released in 57, so strange inclusion. Cline did re-record "Walkin' After Midnight" in 1961 with more of a pop style than the '57 country version. I suppose it's possible they are referring to the re-recording, but it does seem odd that they would ch...

A few things I noticed: Donovan's "Hey Gyp" should be listed by its complete title, "Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness)" . Radiohead's "House of Cards" was released as a single (in 2008). U2's "Please" was released as a single (1997). The White Stripes' "Jolene" was originally released as a B-side in 2000 (...

My "top 5" prediction: Radiohead > Prince this year. I do hope you're right. As much as I would love to see Prince to well in this poll, I've always preferred Radiohead over the Purple One. That being said, I feel pretty confident that the top 6 will be comprised of (not necessarily in this order) ...

Re: The AMF Top 100 Artists 2016!!!

I'm predicting that the recent deaths of Bowie and Prince, who already performed very well in these polls, could result in the Rolling Stones falling out of the top 3. My crazy guess for the top 5: 1. The Beatles 2. Bob Dylan 3. David Bowie 4. Prince 5. The Rolling Stones Then again, Radiohead could...

I've always liked the song "Big Me," but was never crazy about the Foo Fighters. It was only recently that I realized who sang the song (and the interesting fact that for that first album, the Foo Fighters was just Dave Grohl), and I've begun to develop more of an appreciation for Grohl and the group.

I would be interested in seeing track listings for the albums, or even a list of the songs from the albums that are also in AM's Top 6000 songs.

It would also be neat for the songs list to have an indication as to what album each song originated from, who wrote/produced the song, etc.

Limiting one album per artist is doing a real disservice to some great punk albums. I find it hard to take a top 40 punk albums list without London Calling very seriously, and American Idiot definitely deserves a spot as well, in my opinion. Also, what on earth is Blink-182 doing on this list?!
