Re: AMF EOY Best Albums of 2016 -- RESULTS

Great results! The top four in particular were far more in line with my list than any other recent year. It was great seeing A Tribe Called Quest so high, I expected top ten but not top five for that album. I also liked seeing Love & Hate one spot ahead of The Life of Pablo (which I thought was ...

Still my #1 of all time...gotta respect Honorio for his epic take-down of the album above though. There are many highly praised albums I feel the same way about. As always I end the year thinking I didn't listen to nearly as many albums as I wanted to. Out of the albums I did hear there were several disappointments: Swans, Andy Stott, Dean Blunt, and PJ Harvey have combined for eight top ten albums in my 2010-2015 EOY lists, but their efforts this year were ...

None of these were my AOTY though the top tier below are in my top five for their respective years (and Blackstar made a very strong run for #1 this year). The second tier are albums I don't love but I get their AOTY status. Bottom tier is albums I think were poor choices for AOTY. To me Merriweathe...

I love the choice, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see how much reaction this has gotten (it was the lead story in the New York Times this morning).
