Re: Overlooked Songs 3: 2010s Edition - Nominations

It plays at sporting events quite regularly. I might hear it more than Lonely Boy in public. I hear Howlin' for You has done the same job to replace the similar Rock and Roll Part 2, which seemed to fall out of favour even in the rarely-changing world of sports arenas a few years ago. A singer faci...

Just curious, has anyone here not heard "Gold on the Ceiling" before this poll? To me it seems like one of the biggest "indie" rock songs of the decade. I've only heard it through the album and when I was going through all of the songs in the Acclaimed Music top 10,000; never really got the sense o...

Big Thief is top, in my opinion, because we have run into another weak year for albums. We don't have the event-album we had even back in 2017 with DAMN!. Almost seems like those are a thing of the past with the focus in streaming on individual song plays. Has music gone full circle back to the 50s...

So, 32 albums from the 2010s and 68 from the 2000s. That's a huge difference, don't you think? Anyway, I'm surprised Adele is nowhere to be found on this list. Lists like this always have whatever the opposite of a recency bias is. Expect a similar ratio between 2010-2014 albums and 2015-2019 album...
