Re: Pitchfork - The 200 Best Albums of the 1960s (2017)
Great list! I'm very pleased to see loads of jazz albums on there - (Out To Lunch at #15!!), and Nina Simone too, what a fantastic artist usually omitted from lists of this type (only 1 record in the AM3000). It feels odd to be saying this when the Beatles have 6 albums on there but they still feel ...

Re: EOY 2016 Albums Spreadsheet Updates
Any indication what effect 2016 will have on the all time artists list? I note that Black Star is ranked a little higher than Blue & Lonesome...

Re: EOY 2014 Albums - Spreadsheet Updates
Hi Henrik, Are you making any allowance for the fact that Black Messiah by D'Angelo and the Vanguard came out after most of these lists were printed? Also note the absence of the following list, which might bump that album a little higher than its current place at #262! http://www.okayplayer.com/new...

Re: EOY Albums Spreadsheet: Update thread
I actually feel that way about this decade in general. Dark Fantasy, Channel Orange, and The Seer are the only albums I've heard this decade that really rocked me to my core. Add Let England Shake to that list an we're in complete agreement...nothing release this year would be my number one album i...

Re: EOY Albums Spreadsheet: Update thread
the british music press suck A close year, - I think any of the top 3 would be deserving Surprised Disclosure didn't do better, and that we're still waiting for a real Jai Paul record... I for one am still waiting for something as good as channel orange I'm very glad Arcade Fire and mbv aren't top, ...

Re: June update
I love that critics are so willing to include pop hits in their lists. 1 thing, Since U been gone and Toxic are great examples. But call me maybe? I just don't hear it.

Re: Comparing the new update
Bit of a meaningless statistic but for the record(s), The Beatles have overtaken Radiohead as the band / artist with the most album-of-the-year records.

There are no links under 'year lists' to 2010, 11 or 12, and you have to get to them indirectly

Re: Albums of 2013
I've never been so excited about so much music in 1 year! Already we've been treated to the return of mbv, realistically we could be looking at albums from Vampire Weekend (my #1 of 2010), James Blake (my #1 of 2011), D'Angelo (my #15 of all time), Jay - Z, Kanye, Avalanches (optimistic?), David blo...

Re: Songs of 2013
The Knife - A Tooth for an Eye is easily the best I have heard so far this year. Fantastic tune, her voice, the asian rhythms and textures, i believe it's in 12/8!, giving it a really interesting feel. What an incredible return to form.

West Side Story Soundtrack
The West Side Story soundtrack appears twice, once for the Broadway version in 1957 and once for the movie in 1967. I reckon this is a little unfair. The lists which have recognised this music definitely aren't bothered about which version they're listening to. Minor point. PS this site is great! I ...

Re: EOY Albums Spreadsheet - Updates
I find this list rather upsetting as a Brit! Not only are British artists nowhere to be seen (especially after last years' stunning James Blake record doing well), but I can't stand the British lists. Celebration Rock is personal favourite, and would be top 5 if it weren't for us. Apologies on behal...
