Hm, I wonder which of the directors I mentioned is doing poorly. Maybe I overestimated the appeal of PT Anderson, who I thought was generally regarded as the best American filmmaker working today - an opinion I don't share, although I do enjoy his movies.

The White Album has ten too. Eleven if you count its version of "Revolution", "Revolution 1". Why would you count that, it's not listed. Just the regular Revolution is listed. I wouldn't. I'm just pointing out that there is a slower version of a song in the top 6000 that appears...

How are you guys maintaining your formatting when posting to the forum? I have compiled my list in Excel and when I copy and paste it to here the columns do not look as neat as they do in Excel (or when I copy and paste to Word for that matter).

Maybe we can shorten the length of the next round? 14 out of the 26 responses so far (approximately 54%) came in on the first day. A week or even shorter should be sufficient to get an adequate number of responses, no?

I agree. Critics generally DO place too much emphasis on the LP as the standard medium of musical expression. This short shrifts artists from before the LP era and artists in genres that deemphasize the long player. That being said, I believe music has gone downhill since the invention of the piano....

Whole genres have been ignored in countries. As an American, I've rarely heard trip-hop, 2-step, or Madchester on the radio. What I find interesting is when an act is ignored by its home country but embraced abroad. Scott Walker comes to mind.
