Re: MCCh 2022 (19) October 31
Oh wow, Taylor Swift is a whole lot lower than I thought she’d be. Maybe not top ten, after all IIRC Folklore didn’t make the top ten in 2020 (initially), but dang. I thought Midnights was alright, maybe not *great* like Folklore, but still pretty good. And its Metacritic score is in the mid 80s wit...

Primal Scream and “Madchester”?
I’ve been reading a few articles on the Internet about “Madchester,” and apparently Primal Scream’s 1991 album Screamadelica is considered a touchstone of the scene. Just based on the music itself, it certainly fits that description - rock crossed with dance and psychedelica. But wait a second. Prim...

St. Vincent didn’t fare too well in this update. Why?
Not necessarily a huge fan of St. Vincent, just curious why her 2014 self-titled dropped like 200 ranks and 2017’s Masseducation dropped by even more, down to 907? Dang, wasn’t that album on almost every critic’s shortlist for the best of the year?

Do albums from new artists gain more acclaim over time?
Or are albums from new artists actually getting worse? In terms of their AM rankings, I mean. I have an MP3 collection, 250 albums strong, running from 1955-2014, representing 60 years worth of western pop music. The catch? Each artist can only be included once. So only one Beatles album, one Radioh...

Re: Album Club Discussion #9: Daft Punk's Discovery
On my MP3 player, I've rearranged the track listing a bit to have "Night Vision" in between "High Life" and "Something About Us". This way, the album is more clearly divided into the fast side and the slow side.

A website like this, but for restaurants?
I was looking at the google profile of a restaurant near me called the Georgia Pig, and I noticed these critic lists it appeared on... eater.com "The 10 Essential Barbecue Spots in South Florida" thrillist.com "Truckers Name America's Greatest Restaraunts You've Never Heard Of" b...

Re: When will the 2017 update come?
When the update does come out, can you also put it into Excel format, like with the unofficial 2016 update? That makes manipulating the data much easier.

Second opinions to AM?
I've been using this site for a while now, not as long as some others here, but still. It's been a godsend when it comes to creating my own personal music collection project: carefully choosing the single best albums by 500 different primary artists between 1953 and 2013 (exactly 6 decades). By now,...

Best album by each artist?
http://www.acclaimedmusic.net/Current/1890-19arta.htm I'm trying to take each of these 1000 entities and record each of their single best albums according to AM as part of a larger project of mine. Is there any way I can do this with some Excel trick or something without having to click all 1000 ent...

Artists ranked together that should be seperate?
It bothers me that there are several individual artistic entities joined together for the sake of ranking purposes. For example, I don't think it's a stretch to consider Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Company as seperate entities. Same thing with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Inventio...

Some AM questions for a newbie...
1. I was told once on this forum that there were 1445 artists on AM with at least one ranked album; how would someone go about finding this out? 2. Is there a way to see the top artists ranked by album beyond 1000? 3. Can you think of any artists on the best-by-album list that are named together but...

3000 ranked albums, how many artists between them?
In other words: how many artists are there on AM that have at least one ranked album?
If anyone could actually answer this without going through every single artist one-by-one, I'd be very impressed...

The difference between these two lists?
Sorry, noob post, but: http://www.acclaimedmusic.net/061024/1948-09art.htm http://www.acclaimedmusic.net/Current/1890-19art.htm Can someone explain the difference between these two pages? I'm guessing the second one is more up to date? Are there any artists that are on one page but not on the other?...
