It may not be the biggest hits, but any list with, for instance, Journey doing that well... makes it questionable. :mrgreen: The band is now in the Rock Hall, but it took a number of years and critics never loved them.

bootsy- neither Whitney or Mariah have been huge critical favorites trough the years. But, neither were Journey, Neil Diamond, etc.- so, it may just take some time for them to get considered. While Mariah co-wrote most of her material, unlike Whitney, I still think the Hall would consider her first....

Ahh, yes- the part about "Greased Lightnin' was tied to the comment about Grease, so I should have tied them together. :P

I count the number of tracks that are part of playlists as 340.

For tracks that are not part of a playlist, but just mentioned in a write-up- should they be looked at individually to determine whether they should be included? It doesn't really make sense to count negative commentary as acclaim.

Billboard had charted Julie Andrews' version of "My Favorite Things" on the holiday/seasonal charts- must be the mittens, sleigh bells, white winters, snowflakes, etc. :)

I just meant that, for instance, an act has a 10-song playlist. And then additional songs from that act appear in the theme playlists- that gives the act more than 10 songs. :)

AM's included these kinds of lists for some time.

I think in most cases, the works are decently acclaimed. While "Never Gonna Give You Up" featured on one 80s list not too long ago, I don't think we'll be seeing it on a serious "Most Influential" list. :P
