Bizz Magazine (Brazil) - Basic Discotheque: 100 CDs You Must Have In Your Collection

This is one of those lists that sticks to a "one-per-artist" rule, so I was on the fence about whether this was eligible or not (but given that there are some compilations in here, I'm inclined towards not). And even if it was, I was not sure where to put it, since it groups Brazilian and ...

Re: Biggest Fan - 2nd Edition: 501 to 600

597. Idlewild – You Held the World in Your Arms | 8.5 (loved this song since I've been playing FIFA 2003) 598. Reigning Sound – Stormy Weather | 8 (nice garage, kinda surf thingy) 599. Lucio Battisti - Anima Latina | 6 (i'm into Latin but this didn't grab me much) 600. Car Seat Headrest – Something ...

Re: Suggest genre changes here

Not a change, but can anyone add "Film Soundtrack" to Survivor - Eye of the Tiger?
I mean, even though it came out before it, I believe it's so closely associated to Rocky III that a lot of people immediately think of it when the song comes on.

Honestly, I can't tell if this new version of the list is less or more biased.

Re: Rolling Stone Brazil: 100 Greatest Brazilian Songs

Bossa Nova and Tropikália aren't the only good brazilian music of history. Can you recommend to us some good Brazilian music outside of Bossa Nova and Tropikália? I know there's a style called MPB or musica popular Brasiliera but it still basically Brazilian pop... I've been listening to Cansei de ...

Re: Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time (2020 edition)

Stopped by just to check the new additions. I swear I don't understand the press' worship of Kendrick Lamar, who's at #15 right off the bat. I mean, nothing against the guy (unlike Kanye, whose arrogance I can't stand), it's just that I don't feel anything from his songs the way I do with old-school...

Re: When's AM going to update?

If we ever had a 10 commandments of this website, I would hope commandment number 1 would be "thou shall not push for an update". Seriously though, Henrik is a busy man. We get updates when we get updates. As far as I see it, we should be thankful that the man is still working on this sit...

When's AM going to update?

It's been over two years since the last update now, homepage still says it'll update "sometime in 2020" but we're close to the end of the year and nothing yet. I seriously don't think COVID-19 is so bad that it's capable of halting a website's updating schedule (after all, that doesn't eve...

Re: Play That Game

Hey, I didn't know this site until now. A nice read too, it could only have quick profiles for the games like AM has for the artists and albums, and also some level of distinction: for example, I'm checking the Game Boy Color list, and it has Spider-Man, which I think you mean the 2000 game by Activ...

beehype - Best Japanese Albums (2016)

Going off from Rolling Stone's list , I looked up the albums on Wikipedia and right off the first one I found this other list that is a bit more diversified, if quite short (only 30 albums). In fact, beehype seems to have a similar proposal to AM, except their focus appears to be more on up-and-comi...

The Guardian - 50 Essential CDs from Around the World (2008)

So I was googling for some lists and I came across this. As a somewhat comprehensive collection of world music (it's even divided by continents!), and containing special selections by musicians, I thought it wouldn't hurt to share, expecially considering I searched and didn't find any similar thread...

Re: Rolling Stone (Japan) - 100 Greatest Japanese Rock Albums

So, for curiosity, here's the list. Only one Boredoms album, and "Fantasma" by Cornelius again. These are the only artists I know. There's also a band called "X", but it's not the one we all know. I'll write the translated names, since writing in kanas is long and most of you pr...

Considering the proposal of the list, I'm really surprised that Ayumi Hamasaki didn't make the cut.

I recognize a few of these from playing Pump It Up... Not that I care much about K-Pop (even though BLACKPINK are on their way to become a guilty pleasure for me  ), but it's a good list, and nice that it's not limited to what most people here in the West know of Korean music - I ...

Oh, OK, thanks for informing.
I usually tend to look at the site's Critics' Lists to see if there's something to be added, especially considering there are some bands on those lists that haven't appeared in AC's radar yet (like Helloween, for example).

Don't the 10,001 songs from the appendix get added to the main site's database?

Roadie Crew (Brazil) - 100 Great Albums - Heavy Metal & Classic Rock (2007)

This was their 100th issue special edition, published in 2007 (which, coincidentally, was also the year of the magazine's 10th anniversary), and as such, aside from special articles such as the origins of Heavy Metal, it also included a list of the 100 most influent albums in heavy metal (they put i...

Re: Roadie Crew: 200 real hymns of heavy metal & classic rock you must hear before you die (2011)

For the record: in Portuguese, "200 verdadeiros hinos do heavy metal & classic rock que você tem que ouvir antes de morrer". It's always confusing to see more classic rock in lists from Roadie Crew since they're supposed to be a heavy metal outlet, but whatever. A bit late, but I feel...
